Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

The constitution of the Parent Teacher Association drily states that it exists to advance the education of the pupils, to develop more extended relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school, to engage in activities which support the school, and to provide and assist in the provision of facilities and/or items.  In reality, the PTA does all this and a lot, lot more besides.

Every parent/guardian of a child attending Petersfield – and every member of staff – is a member of the Parent Teacher Association.  The very active and hard-working PTA Committee meets twice each term, and the annual election of Committee members takes place at the AGM in September.

The great majority of the PTA’s time and effort goes into fundraising to supplement the money received by the school.  In many cases, without this fundraising, some items simply could not have been afforded.

Fundraising comprises both well-known events and new ideas – and the social aspect of the events (and all the necessary behind the scenes work) really helps to bring people closer together for the common cause – the good of our children.

The PTA Committee is always grateful of any help – it’s hard work but ultimately completely rewarding.  We ask for the support of you all – whether it be helping out on an occasional basis or simply to attend – and of course enjoy – the events.
