Our Values

Commitment to support, protect, develop, include, nurture.
Aiming High
Responsibility
Enthusiasm

Our aim…..
To provide an environment outside of school hours where your children can feel safe, supported and valued. Our commitment to this aim will ensure that as parents and carers, you can be confident that your child will continue to thrive and develop under our care. As an equal opportunities club, we welcome all children regardless of gender, ethnicity, home language, culture or disability, etc.

POSH Club was established in January 1999 to provide after-school care for the children of Petersfield School.  The Club was the brainchild of a small number of committed people, who initially saw it as an offshoot of the P.T.A.  They set about organising a committee and then got to grips with the necessary paperwork, and the rest is history!  We have since gone on to provide “Before School care” - our Breakfast Club is known as “Early Birds”. We also run Holiday Playschemes. Children from other schools are very welcome to come to POSH Club. POSH has recently earned a  Level 2 Quality Assurance Award with   4Children’s  “Aiming High” Scheme.

As of October 2008 the club has come under the umbrella of Petersfield School.
Each Spring representatives are elected to a committee by the parents of POSH users to represent their views to the school.  Elected Committee representatives:- to be elected in

Administrator: Brenda Dunn

Playworkers: Sandie Fyson, Nikki Jeffreys, Fiona Richardson, Lauren Dunn, Katie Neal, Edna Morley, Gemma Jackson, Ben Ritsema

The idea of the out of hours club is a simple one……….. to provide a friendly home from home environment which is welcoming to all; a place where children can relax before and after school. There are arts and crafts available, board games, Playstation, computers, and plenty of outdoor play equipment.  Children are met in the Playground at the end of the school day by Playworkers, who escort them to the mobile.  The afternoon  sessions usually begin with everybody joining together for a drink,, snack, and a chat and then they play!.   During the after school sessions they will be offered further drinks/snacks, e.g. toast, fruit, sandwiches etc.  As well as free play, there are planned activities on offer including cooking and structured outdoor games, although children are not obliged to take part in any organised activity, help with homework is also available!  At Breakfast Club children are delivered to the mobile by their parents and are offered breakfast.  They are taken to school by the Playworkers at school time.

Booking Arrangements
Children must be registered in  advance in order to use the club.
Regular bookings must be made in advance. Booking forms will be issued at the end of each half-term with invoices.
Children cannot be accepted by the Club without prior booking by a responsible adult.,

Cancellations
If you do make a booking which is subsequently not used, you will still be charged for that session.  The out of hours club is limited to 26 children and you may have taken up a space which could have been used by another child, and the staff still have to be paid.
It would be helpful if you could let us know of cancellations at the earliest opportunity.
Once you have made a booking it is your responsibility to ensure that staff know if your child is not going to attend.  It is very disruptive to school and the club when staff have to spend time locating an individual child who has been booked in, but who hasn’t turned up.  This also compromises the safety of the other children.  Please be considerate.
Children will only be released to a parent or recognised adult at the end of a session. Any arrangement which differs from this we will need in writing. Under 16’s cannot collect children.
If anybody other than yourself is picking up your child, then that person should be introduced to the staff on duty beforehand.  If this is not possible it may be necessary to use a Password. Staff cannot be expected to recognise everybody’s friends and relatives .

SICK CHILDREN— The club does not accept sick children.  If a child is ill at school then they have to be collected from school.

MEDICINES—Only prescribed medicines will be administered if absolutely necessary. We  require written permission, and note of possible side effects.

LATE BOOKING—A £3 charge will be added for each session booked after midday on the day of attendance.

LATE COLLECTION—There is a fixed charge of £10 for every half hour or part thereof after 6 PM.—this is to cover the cost of staff staying behind to look after your child.

CHARGES:  Annual registration fee per family £15.00

EARLY BIRDS:  This runs in the school mobile classroom from 7.45 a.m. every school day.  There is a flat rate charge of £3.50 which includes breakfast.

AFTER SCHOOL: This too runs every day in the mobile classroom and is open until 6 p.m.   Children are collected from the school playground at 3.15 pm. and delivered to the mobile.

The pricing structure for “After School” childcare is:
BAND A  = £6.50 (If children collected before 5 pm.)

BAND B  = £8.50 (If children collected after 5 pm)

Minimum charge is £6.50 regardless of time child arrives at POSH (Some children attend football, tennis, etc. immediately after school)
A charge of £3 will be added to the bill each time a place is booked after midday on the day of attendance.
(Discount of 10% for families with two or more children.)

Invoices are issued on the first working day of each month - payment is due 14 days after billing.  Payment should be made by cheque to the school office.  Cheques should be made payable to Petersfield School and sealed in a named envelope.  Failure to pay promptly will result in an administration charge and you may jeopardise your child’s place at the club..  POSH  ACCEPTS CHILDCARE VOUCHERS.
